It is now widely recognised that small vessels play a crucial role in the mechanisms of various cardiovascular diseases. Those conditions affect people of all ages and result in considerable disability and premature death being a major concern for a growing number of investigators worldwide. Therefore Servier is proud to support research in this field.
- What is the Servier Award in Microcirculation?

This 4,000 EUR award is offered by SERVIER in partnership with the European Society for Microcirculation for an outstanding publication on microcirculation/vascular biology research in the experimental or the clinical environment. The project proposed must be original research, of international relevance and significant value and be consistent with the main objectives of ESM.
- Who may apply?

The award would like to encourage young scientists, aged under 40 years on January 31st, 2008. The 2008 award will be presented during the 25th ESM meeting that will be held in Budapest from August 26 to 29, 2008.
- How to apply?

- Applications should preferably be made by e-mail.
- Applicants must submit a 1-2 page Curriculum Vitae and a PDF file of the competing publication.
- The applicant should be the only or first author (agreement of co-authors is needed).
Exceptionally and if justified by contents, also
- 2 joint publications maybe submitted
- should an extraordinary study have been performed by two authors equally responsible, a joint application is possible.
- Published articles should not be older than 2 years upon application.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: the deadline for the SERVIER Award has been prolonged until April 30, 2008.
