Despite the fact that we had moved forward the
date of our annual meeting in Brussels, and that doing so has
generated additional difficulties, we have welcomed 340 attendants
from 25 different countries, of whom 184 were ETRS members.
From 204 reviewed abstracts 153 oral presentations and 36 posters
have been presented. The topics covered basic scientific and
clinical research, and offered a review of current knowledge
and applications concerning repair in a variety of organs or
tissues.
At the next annual meeting in Cardiff this
specific ETRS tradition will be continued and further developed,
as outlined by Prof Keith Harding further in this issue.
The Board of the ETRS had a meeting in Paris
in November, where we discussed the topics already mentioned
by Alexis Desmoulière in the previous issue of the Bulletin
(see President's Annual Report, Volume 7, Issue 2). It was agreed
that a summary of the major items discussed and agreed at the
board meeting would be presented to the membership via publication
in the ETRS Bulletin and on the website.
We will continue to follow the trends initiated
during the previous years regarding daily management of the
activities of the society. In addition, we are persuaded that
we can enhance the dialogue between all members throughout the
year and stimulate their active participation at the annual
meetings.
You will find the updated list of officers
of the ETRS in the back of this Bulletin, along with the members'
list as we now have it in our records. If your address is missing,
incorrect, or has changed, please inform us.
Again, do not hesitate to give us your feedback, ideas and your
suggestions concerning the setting up of an interesting website.
