EUROPEAN  TISSUE  REPAIR  SOCIETY

A Board meeting in Southampton was held recently and discussed the forthcoming ETRS meeting and also the future role of the ETRS. It was agreed that to ‘build upon’ the successes of previous meetings, such as that most recently held in Pisa, the Society should look to expanding its membership in Europe and beyond, particularly in the new accession states of the EU. The Board is looking at a number of possible initiatives in this respect and will present these at the forthcoming Southampton meeting. It was recognised however that the greatest driver for this expansion will maintaining the activities of the Society in the promotion of scientific, clinically relevant research.

The Board also discussed new developments which included the sponsorship of a 1,500 Euros Post-Doctoral Researchers prize at the forthcoming meeting. The new President of the Society will be announced after the election in March.
