ETRS SECRETARY’S REPORT
2005 – 2006

THE ETRS held a Board meeting on 5 September 2005 during its annual meeting in Stuttgart. The full minutes of that meeting have been published in the ETRS Bulletin.

The ETRS held a further Board meeting on Saturday 21 January 2006 in Pisa, Italy, where it considered many matters, including the programme and organisation of the annual Pisa meeting. The full minutes of that Board meeting have been published in the ETRS Bulletin.

An ETRS Focus Group meeting was organised by Prof. Luc Téot, entitled ‘First Scar Meeting – Innovations and contradictions, the future to discover’, in Montpellier, France from 29 March – 1 April 2006.

The ETRS held elections this year and Professors David Leaper, David Thomas and Sabine Eming were elected to the Board. Additionally, the Board unanimously co-opted Professor Hilde Beele to the Board, where she has kindly agreed to act as Shadow Treasurer to Dr Mieke Flour.

Dr Esther Middelkoop will leave the Board this year, relinquishing her post as Past President. Professor Sabine Werner will also leave the Board in 2006 and postal nominations and elections will take place later in the year, following the usual ETRS format.

The names of the current Officers and Board Members of the ETRS appear on page 29. The Secretary has enjoyed an excellent working relationship with all Officers of the Society, with the ETRS Business Office and with the Board. I thank them all for their helpful suggestions and constructive interactions.
